The tunes and arrangements are specially written for this constellation, with the clearly stated goal to make music that would be interesting and inspiring for the band and the individual musicians. Everybody should have fun and be able to maximise their potential. Another important aspect was that the ones making the arrangements should have a prior attachment to the band.

Sandviken Big Band
The ones who still constitute the core of Sandviken Big Band got together in September 1968. From the onset it was merely a rehearsal band but after several successful performances the band started to give regular concerts.
An important goal in the operation was to cooperate with professional soloists and musicians to raising the bar.
The list of collaborators is long.
